Tax Enforcement Special Agent

The Department of Revenue Services (DRS) is looking to hire multiple Tax Enforcement Special Agents.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

This is a full-time position with a first-shift schedule of 7:00 AM - 3:00PM Monday through Friday, although cases may demand occasional evening or weekend hours.

This position will be located in Hartford, CT with hybrid opportunities available.

YOUR ROLE

The Tax Enforcement Special Agents in the Criminal Investigation Division (“CID”) of the Legal Services Bureau. The successful candidates will be assigned to the Master Settlement Agreement (MSA) Unit and be responsible for the enforcement of all Connecticut laws pertaining to the sales and possession of cigarettes and other tobacco products (“OTP”). Tax Enforcement Special Agent positions are also responsible for the detection and interdiction of contraband cigarette operations in the state of Connecticut.

Our ideal candidate will have experience with: 

 

  • Undercover law enforcement; 
  • Using technology to investigate crimes; 
  • Interviewing suspects; 
  • And an understanding of criminal laws, to include Connecticut tax laws.
