Investigative Assistant

This position is located within the Operations Division of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs' (OFCCP) Mid-Atlantic Regional Office. The purpose of the OFCCP is to enforce, for the benefit of job seekers and wage earners, the contractual promise of affirmative action, and equal employment opportunity required of those who do business with the Federal government.

Major Duties:

  • Reviews results from quality audits, identifies trends in deficiencies, and makes training recommendations to regional management.
  • Prepares written reports of audit results, including recommendations and comments for Area Office review and implementation.
  • Assist the regional Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Coordinator with responding to FOIA requests and maintaining records.
  • Reviews and analyzes incoming complaints filed under Executive Order 11246, as amended, Sections 4212 and 503 programs, to determine jurisdiction.
  • Acknowledges receipt of complaints, initiates, and responds to complaint-related correspondence and inquiries, and distributes non-OFCCP complaints to appropriate agencies for investigation.
  • Receives and processes Pre-award Requests, coordinates with Federal Procurement Agency officials, and analyzes and processes all requests for Pre-award clearance.
  • Regularly and independently coordinates multiple clearance actions with District/Area Offices and other Regional Offices and achieves a timely and complete response to the procurement officials for all locations affected by the procurement.
  • Extracts statistical information from case files to develop an analysis of underrepresentation among protected classes.
