Intern – UNPAID SUMMER 2024 INTERN

We are looking for talented students to hire for our Internship Program who can help initiate our solution-based business model to the next level. As an intern at NJ TRANSIT, you will oversee projects from concepts to completion. Our interns step away from the regular sitting at the desk to having the opportunity at hands-on experience with several business units within NJ TRANSIT. Our ideal candidate is passionate about learning and using creative solutions to make an impact on the lives of others.
Objective of this role:
Duties of the summer intern will be expected to assist with a wide variety of departmental duties and tasks, including communicating and interfacing with internal and external official including elected officials and their staffs (municipal mayors, council members, county commissioners,
State legislators and members of New Jersey's Federal delegation). The intern will also work on research projects specific to my departments.
Skills and Qualifications:
Enrollment in a program focusing on political science, finance or related major. Any year of college is acceptable.
Should be able to:
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in face paced environment and multitask
Work Environment:
Office and possibly in the field at municipal or stakeholder or other meetings
- Approximate Hours Per Week: This is an unpaid internship, looking to hire ASAP in exchange for school credits.
