Elementary School Counselor

BUENA REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT

ATLANTIC COUNTY, NJ

HAS THE FOLLOWING ANTICIPATED POSITION AVAILABLE FOR THE 2024-2025 SY

 

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL COUNSELOR

Position to Start on or about date of September 1, 2024

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid New Jersey Educational Services Certificate for School Counselor, or eligibility.
  • Understanding of child development, behavior, and learning styles.
  • Knowledge of counseling techniques and interventions appropriate for elementary students. 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with students, parents, staff and community groups and organizations.
  • Knowledge of state testing and evaluation, and core competencies defined by the ASCA.
  • Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

 

REPORTS TO:         PRINCIPAL/ DIRECTOR OF STUDENT PERSONNEL SERVICES

 

JOB GOAL:              To promote student success and respond to identified needs by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses the academic, career, and persona/social development of all students.

 

SALARY:                  In accordance with the BREA Negotiated Agreement
