Records and Information Management Specialist

RECORDS And INFORMATION MGMT SPECIALIST

USDA Agricultural Research Service is currently recruiting for a RECORDS And INFORMATION MGMT SPECIALIST at ITSD Home : USDA ARS in remote.

Duties:   

  • Use techniques to adopt new or unexpected customer requirements and adopts changes to new technologies
  • Prepare recommendations for legislation to change the way programs are carried out
  • Report to the Information Security Branch and are responsible for supporting the agency.
  • Researches and interprets guidance on program planning and evaluation in their area of specialization (e.g., work force management, contingency/emergency planning, position management, work measurement, or productivity improvement).
  • Plans, organizes, and carries through to completion analytical studies involving the substance of key agency programs.
  • Adapts to continuing changes in customer requirements, or rapidly evolving technology in the specialty areas. The employee develops new standards, methods, and techniques; evaluates the impact of technological change.
  • Evaluates and audits agency records management practices on a regular basis, identifying problems, recommending solutions, and monitoring progress.

  • Develops new standards, methods, and conceives of solutions to highly complex technical issues

GS-13:Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience must be described for each grade level advertised. The specialized experience requirements for this position are: Qualifying experience for GS-13 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-12 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience developing, maintaining, and managing agency records schedules retention and disposition plans for supported REE Agencies. This includes meeting and engaging both internal and external stakeholders ensuring schedules and plans are accurate and reflect Agency information utilization, management, and disposition. Reviews and make updates on existing Agency records retention/disposition schedules and plans.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
