The HomeHealth Innovation Intern will shadow experienced UX analysts, designers, and software developers, gaining insights into the design process from ideation to prototyping and testing. Learn to become a champion for the user by conducting user research through interviews, surveys, observations to better understand the needs and frustrations of patients, providers, and other stakeholders. The HomeHealth Innovation Intern will contribute to solving real-world problems through the participation in active projects, assisting with tasks like user persona development, user journey mapping, prototyping, and usability testing and getting hands on experience with generative AI application in healthcare.

DURATION: Summer 2024 (8 weeks at 40 hours/week) tentative start of June 10
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Continuously analyze existing systems, understand customer needs, and gather and document requirements and technical specifications
- Conduct human-centered design research, perform testing, and develop personas
- Support design thinking activities, agile development methodologies, and discovery workshops
- Participate in shadowing and observation opportunities across the organization
- Document customer meetings, concepts, and project artifacts/decisions
- Assist with meetings, tours, and workshop preparation and setup
- Work both independently and collaboratively with a team of designers, developers, and analysts
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in design, engineering, computer science, healthcare, or a related field
- Strong interest in healthcare and the potential of technology to improve lives
- Experience in clinical settings or direct patient care
- Pursuing a degree in the medical field
- Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple competing priorities and projects
- Aptitude for learning quickly and possessing strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
