Advanced Technician - Diagnostic Imaging Repair

Job Description Summary: 

As an Advanced Repair Technician at our Oak Creek site, you will perform diverse and complex assignments in support of GEHC product development and manufacturing.

Independently performs root cause analysis, troubleshooting, testing, modifications, defective component replacement, and electrical and mechanical alignments as a part of the execution of component level repair of system boards and subassemblies across all DI installed base equipment. 

Self-directed assignments may include but are not limited to: repairing of system boards and assemblies needed for the health of the GSSC part network.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Independently tests, repairs, and modifies field-failed system parts and sub-assemblies to restore correct operation and compliance to performance specifications
  • Perform visual inspections and advanced trouble shooting encompassing multiple variables and unknowns to achieve root cause analysis and problem resolution to the component level.
  • Perform software and hardware evaluation and executes test procedures, using knowledge of board function, sub-system operation, and advanced test equipment.
  • Lead compliance and quality activities by looking for defect trends, learning about quality issues and concessions and passing information to other technicians.  Serve as the repair process expert on new repair introductions by providing feedback to engineering and technician personnel as new repairs are developed and new procedures are implemented
  • Provide technical assistance by telephone or in person to customers, field service personnel, suppliers, and modality engineering

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree; or a High School diploma and at least 2 years technical experience
  • Ability to logically troubleshoot at subsystem and system level using identifiable problem-solving techniques
  • Ability to draw accurate conclusions from test data, malfunctions, or deviations, and assist with corrections to the existing design or process
  • Proficiency to understand and interpret basic written technical information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or Technology related fields
  • Knowledge and understanding of production process, work instructions, documentation configuration control, non-conforming & rework documentation
  • IPC Soldering Certified
  • 5 or more years of experience troubleshooting electronic circuits to the component level
  • Lean concepts and applications
  • Familiarity with GRID, eDHR, and My Workshop
