Repair Development Engineer

Job Description Summary

Lead the development and implementation of new repairs at the GE Healthcare Repair Operations Center (ROC) in Oak Creek, WI. Activities include technical leadership, program management, and design transfer. Must be able to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities to meet commitments.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead repair development activities adhering to process standards, project financials, and time constraints.
  • Establish safe processes that comply with applicable regulations.  Assure that corrective action is taken to resolve observed safety concerns.
  • Work with engineering teams to resolve manufacturing and quality problems related to methods, equipment, and product design.
  • Ensure compliance through documentation of equipment requirements, work instructions and  verification/validation.
  • Develop process and workstation to minimize cycle time and promote lean manufacturing principles.
  • Provide technical support for existing processes when needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical discipline and 3 years’ experience, or associate’s degree and 5 years’ experience in production, engineering or troubleshooting of electronics
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electronics systems and circuits
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting, analytical and planning skills
  • Proven ability to work in self-directed situations
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience as a manufacturing engineer or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to perform with high levels of ambiguity
  • Experience working with medical devices
