Materials Specialist

Job Description Summary

Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials (from suppliers and also within departments) according to production schedules. Plan and schedule material/production needs. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. There is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute cycle counting, packaging purchasing, manager expense and chemical materials and coordinate with suppliers for returning discrepant material.
  • Basic Oracle Knowledge Development and Understanding
  • Basic SSP Purchasing Knowledge (Indirect Material)
  • Basic PFEP Understanding and Planning Parameter
  • Basic Billing and Accounting Knowledge
  • Understanding and Running Cycle Count Program (Following up on discrepancies)
  • Planning and Purchasing Packaging Materials
  • Facilitate and Process NCR's and MRB Material
  • Basic understanding of transactions and performing transactions within Oracle
  • Basic Understanding of Lean and Participating in Lean Kaizen Events
  • Basic Direct Material Purchasing Utilizing Oracle
  • Understanding Supply / Demand and Basic Planning Parameters
  • Entry level understanding into Enterprise / ERT / Seibel / MWS
  • Further Refining Lean Understanding and Understanding Standard Work

Required Qualifications

  • This role requires basic experience in the Manufacturing & Materials Planning and Execution. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience
