USDA Enterprise Data Management Center Internship (Data and AI Marketing)

Introduction

Ever wonder how an idea or initiative is adopted at a federal agency? It all comes down to communications and marketing! This internship will focus on the development of comms and marketing for data and AI initiatives in 2024-2025.

What you'll do

You will work on one or more of the following based on your interest and skillset

Redesign our main Data and AI SharePoint resource – USDA employees working on data and AI visit our main SharePoint site, but it needs a facelift. Help design mockups to make it easier for USDA data and AI practitioners and citizen developers to access the resources they need to do their job.

Develop Data and AI tool marketing and communications – The USDA’s enterprise platform (EDAPT) will be going through a modernization effort in 2024. Help us develop marketing and communications templates that we can use to communicate new features, outages, and progress to internal customers.

Create Data and AI Strategy communication and social media campaign – The new USDA Data Strategy launched in late 2023 and the USDA AI strategy is expected to launch in 2024. Help develop communication materials and social media to help spread the word through targeted campaigns meant to spread the word.

What you'll learn

You will learn how to communicate data and AI material, whether technical, policy, or strategy, to an internal and external audience, for the purpose of increasing innovation adoption. You will also work alongside other VSFS interns at USDA and work in teams.
