Undergraduate Intern - Communications and Security Awareness

This position is a communications position in the Security Awareness Program. The Security Awareness Program at PNNL delivers messages, articles, and campaigns to over 5,000 staff conveying security requirements. The position is in a fast paced dynamic environment with increasing needs while operating in a virtual environment.

The ideal candidate is a communications, marketing, journalism, or similar major. We are seeking a strong writer to assist in the development of compelling announcements, creative and innovative articles, and issuance of formal written communications around complex security topics. This environment is fast paced with tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, be extremely detail oriented, and have the ability to successfully operate in a virtual environment.

Candidates must be extremely detail oriented and have excellent customer service skills. A strong background in written communications is highly desired. Demonstrated ability to be organized and multi task will assist in the success of this internship. Impeccable written and verbal communication skills for varied audiences including an eye for customer-focused visual design.

Must be a quick learner who can work without constant supervision.
Must have ability to use Microsoft Office suite of products without assistance, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be undergraduate degree-seeking students enrolled at an accredited college or university. Candidates must be taking at least 6 credit hours and have an overall GPA of 2.5.

Desirable Qualifications
Prefer experience and knowledge in operating Sharepoint, MS Teams and Zoom.
Prefer candidates in the fields of Communications, Media/Journalism, or Marketing.
Preferred GPA of 3.0 or better.
