Sox Summer Intern

SOX Intern

San Francisco, CA

About Us

One Medical is a primary care platform challenging the industry status quo by making quality care more affordable, accessible, and enjoyable. But this isn’t your average doctor’s office. We’re on a mission to radically transform healthcare, which means tackling the frustrations of everyone involved — from patients and providers to employers and health networks.

Across the country, our members enjoy seamless access to comprehensive care at more than 90 locations across thirteen cities (and counting!) as well as 24/7 access to virtual care powered by intelligent uses of technology. In addition to a direct-to-consumer membership model, we work with more than 7,000 companies to provide One Medical health benefits to their employees.

On January 31, 2020 we marked a milestone with our public listing on Nasdaq, but our work is far from over. As we continue to grow and broaden our impact, we’re building a diverse, driven and empathetic team, while working hard to cultivate an environment where everyone can thrive.

We have an exciting opportunity! You will be part of a team of 3 people dedicated to improving processes in ways that enable SOX compliance. This is a fast-paced role, with opportunities to learn business processes and systems, interact with cross-functional stakeholders, and gain hands-on experience assessing internal controls.
The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, people-oriented, and highly organized. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in a career in internal or external auditing.

What you'll likely work on:
  • Assessing the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting
  • Updating and maintaining SOX documentation, including flowcharts
  • Assessing and managing the SOX impacts of changes in the business, such as new revenue streams and new system implementations
  • Supporting business process improvement initiatives
  • Supporting other tasks and projects, as requested

What you’ll need:
  • Must have at least two years of university completed
  • An interest in auditing and/or compliance
  • Growth mindset and desire to learn
  • Attention to detail
  • Good critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Excel

This is a paid hourly internship, 40-hour per week for at least eight weeks. Our 2021 internship program is currently set up as a virtual internship (subject to change) in which interns can be located in any state that we operate in, however your core hours will align with the standard business hours for the team you are working with during your internship.
One Medical is an equal opportunity employer and encourages all applicants from every background and life experience.
