Managing Assistant Director III, Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct

Under the supervision of the Director of Community Standards and Student Conduct, the Managing Assistant Director upholds and enforces the core values set forth in the University Code of Student Conduct through the fair and timely administration of the student conduct process. The Managing Assistant Director manages the resolution of alleged violations of conduct policies by university students and student organizations, as well as provides proactive outreach and ongoing oversight of cases involving students exhibiting behavioral concerns. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting the Director with managing investigations of allegations of student code of conduct violations; managing correspondence and outreach; database management; and serving as a liaison to Residential Student Services Community Standards efforts. The Managing Assistant Director educates students about decision-making and encourages personal responsibility in furtherance of the mission and values of the institution. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and a minimum of two years of professional experience in a higher education setting with the demonstrated ability to resolve campus based behavioral concerns in an efficient and effective manner is required. A Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in the field of college student personnel, higher education administration, counseling or related field is preferred. Candidate must have strong written and oral communication skills that can effectively address a variety of audiences, including Kean University’s student body, families, faculty and staff. Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite are essential. Prior usage of Datatel and Maxient is a plus.
